While Dish isn't yet ready to officially reveal the details of its new "Hopper" multiroom DVR setup or any wireless broadband plans, it has announced the addition of video on-demand streaming to its Remote Access iPad app. For users with the Blockbuster @Home package or premium movie channels like HBO, they can log in with their Dish Online ID and be in business. The remote viewing portion has also been refreshed, with what we're told is an updated guide. For Google TV owners, it also announced an official tie-in with the developers of Thuuz to record the live sports programs it alerts users to. Check out the details in the press release after the break, as well as a few hands-on pics of the iPad app in our gallery.

Adding the VOD content to the DRA app for iPad just makes a great app even greater. It is already a daily use app because I use it to Steam my live television with my sling adapter, but now I can add HBO on demand and others to my arsenal of awesomeness. I really like The Hopper as well, with the release at CES earlier this month we all got to see the new receiver. Granted it has been a while coming, but this is one of the most complete whole home DVR’s I have seen. It has a massive hard drive that gives you 250 hours of high definition recording time, more then enough to make my inner television packrat happy. Plus a new feature called Primetime Anywhere, it will automatically record primetime shows from all 4 major networks and let you access all of those shows for 8 days after airing. You can now get caught up on your time, and enjoy the hair you won’t be pulling out dealing with scheduling conflicts. I want to upgrade so bad I can taste it, but even employees have to wait for it to be released just like subscribers. We can sit here and tap our feet waiting impatiently.
